Well, 2010 got off to a rough start for me. Today was the first day I
haven't felt sick since January 1. I'm not sure what I've had although I
suspect it's related to allergies. I've been told over the years that
it's a stomach bug or flu but it seems to come every time there's a
change of weather. Basically I just feel sick to my stomach and fatigued
and it pretty much knocks the stuffing out of my exercise program.
I don't think it's a coincidence that as soon as the rainy weather cleared up here in San Diego that I started feeling better. I'll follow up with my allergy doctor but right now I just want to get back on track with my fitness program. I've managed to get in an occasional bike ride and a little weight training in the last three weeks but I'm really anxious to ramp it up. I'm really hoping that 2010 is the year that illness no longer dominates my life.
Despite the frustration of recent weeks I'm pretty jazzed because I'm better positioned now that I have been in many years. In 2008, the pituitary disorder was reversed and in 2009 celiac was finally diagnosed after causing me serious issues for at least 15 years. If all I have to deal with going forward is allergy related issues it sure beats the heck out of what I've had to face for a long, long time.
Tomorrow, I'm planning on hopping on the bike and if things go well I should be back on track with my program within a few days. I'm really looking forward to going to Dallas in March and meeting everyone. I'll try to post more often now that I'm feeling better and I pray that I can have a good run of wellness in 2010...
