First bass I've caught in many years! I grew up fishing and thought I'd get back into it. This little guy only weighed about a pound but he was a lot of fun to catch on lightweight tackle.
I was pretty jazzed catching this bass, which ran about 2 lbs. The last time I caught a bass this size was back in the 80s! Caught him on a white Chatterbait.
Santee Lakes - Lake 3. This bass ran 1.5 lbs. Caught him on a white chatterbait. That's my Quantum Accurist Keven VanDam Signature edition reel.
Santee Lakes - Lake 4. Weighed 2 lbs, caught on a gold-colored Cordell Super Spot. Hooked another one on the same lure a few minutes earlier but he got off right at the bank.
This is my new baby! This is one of the best float tubes for fishing on the market. Here I am just about to launch it for the first time at nearby Lake Murray.
Notice that I've already got my new float tube tricked out! On one side I've got a rod holder and the other a holster for my Fishing Buddy 1200 fishfinder. For launch, the Fishing Buddy is laying to the side. No problem bringing 2 rods, a cooler, and all the tackle you could want!!!
Notice how hydrodynamic this design is. On the water, I was able to cruise full-force into the wind and current with minimal effort. And it was so nice how this puppy let's you sit so high on the water - even if you are a big ole boy like me! A big plus is that kicking for 2-3 hours is one heck of a great aerobic workout! This puppy cruises so well that when I got to shore a guy fishing nearby who had been watching me was stunned to see that I was cruising so fast without a trolling motor!
