Glad you dropped by! I try to post every few days or so. You can use the subscribe feature in the left column to get an email when I post. I post video updates in the right column. Further down the page are photo albums, slideshows, archives of prior posts, etc. I write a monthly article for the Pituitary Network Association chronicling my many years of coping with a pituitary disorder and you can read them by looking in the PNA articles section in the right column. Memories of Jerry

My brother Jerry passed away in 2002 at the age of 49. I made a tribute video from old Super 8 tapes taken around 1954. You can see my Mom pregnant with me and a few months after I was born. That's my brother Danny with the blond hair.

Bring it on!

Went out for a bike ride today - the first time I felt up to riding since June 12. I received a tentative diagnosis of fibromyalgia yesterday. I actually feel encouraged because I feel this is giving me the answers I need to get better. On the bike today I felt somewhat passionate as I worked through the the frustrations of chronic illness...

"Fibromyalgia? BRING IT ON! Gluten disorder? BRING IT ON! Thyroid, pituitary, asthma, sleep apnea? BRING IT ON! I'll be damned if I'll give up or let go of my dreams! It's time Jim! Time to step back in the ring...it ain't over til it's over..."

I get angry like anyone coping with chronic illness but I make it a point to put that anger to good use. Most people think of me as easy-going and cheerful and I am - but make no mistake...there's an intense fire behind that smile and I will never give up! No matter what...

Fibromyalgia anyone?

Went to a rheumatologist yesterday. She pushed in on several point on my body and it really hurt. She said that was suggestive of fibromyalgia. I'd always thought everyone hurts when you push in on those pressure points. She wants to do some more testing but stated that she's pretty sure it's fibromyalgia. She supported the current assessment by my other doctors that I probably have a gluten-intolerance disorder.

Man, I'm a piece of work! It's like I'm starring in my own TV series - "Medical Detective"! Anyway, I'm just glad to be getting at the bottom of things and I'm looking forward to getting everything sorted out and treated...

Welcome Home Tom!

After back surgery and a long stay in the medical rehab facility, Tom was able to finally return home to Alvarado today. I talked to Tom and Tommy and from what I could tell they were really having a party! Can you say "Prayers answered!" I made a slideshow tonight to welcome Tom home...
